Setting Up a Company

After you install Brass Jacks Bookkeeper, your first step is to add a company. Brass Jacks Bookkeeper provides the New Company Assistant wizard to guide you through these steps. Review the options below to determine the best method for setting up a company.

  • Select Express Setup to manually enter very basic required information about your company and get started quickly. You need the company name, accounting method, fiscal year-end date, checking account balance, and the next check number available. 
  • Select Standard Setup for the wizard to guide you through a more thorough setup. If you use this, most of the company information will be in place when you begin to work. 
  • Select Quickbooks if you have company information in Quickbooks 2003 or later that you want to import. Please see Importing Data From Quickbooks for more information.
