Processing a Credit Card Refund
A credit card refund can only be made if a credit card charge has already been processed for the customer. Credit card refunds must be for the entire amount of the original credit card charge. If you need to make a partial credit card refund, you can issue a refund for the entire original charge and then process a new credit card charge for the remaining balance.
For information about processing a credit card refund for items that were previously invoiced, see Accepting Returns From Customers.
You can process credit card refunds online through your secure payment gateway. Follow the steps online for processing the refund. After an online refund has been completed, you must make the adjustments in Brass Jacks Bookkeeper to reflect these changes. For more information, see Entering Payments on Invoices.
