Completing the Charge

The charge results appear with an explanation of the success or failure of the transaction.

Upon a successful transaction, an Authorization Code appears at the bottom of the Charge Credit Card dialog box.

Successful Transaction Results

When the results of the credit card transaction are returned as Approved, click the Save button in the Charge Credit Card dialog box. The payment transaction is automatically saved, and the invoice closes.

Failed Transaction Results

When the results of a credit card transaction are returned as Declined, check the results for an explanation of why the transaction failed. If necessary, re-enter corrected information and run the charge again.

If a transaction continues to fail, your customer might need to select another method of payment.

If the card information does not validate (e.g. the card number is incorrect), you can click Cancel to return to the previous screen and select a different form of payment. If the transaction is Declined, it is important to click Save in this screen so that Brass Jacks Bookkeeper keeps track of the transaction.
