Printing or Exporting Reports

You can print reports, save reports as PDF files, or export reports in various formats.

Note: Some reports, such as labels and forms, require additional information from you before printing; therefore, you cannot quickly print these reports directly from the Report Manager dialog box.

To print or export a report quickly from the Report Manager dialog box:
  1. Specify the time period.
  2. Select the type of output from the Output To list.
  3. Then click the quick print icon for the report.
  4. If you’re printing the report, it prints immediately on the default printer.
  5. If you’re creating a PDF file of the report, in the Save Report As dialog box, name the file and specify where to save it. Then click Save.
  6. If you’re creating an Excel, CSV, or text file, in the Save As dialog box, name the file and specify where to save it. (By default, Brass Jacks Bookkeeper selects the file type you indicated in the Output To list, but you can change the format in the Save as type list or adjust the encoding.) Then click Save.
To customize a report before printing or exporting:
  1. In the Report Manager dialog box, click the view icon.
  2. In the Brass Jacks Bookkeeper - Reporting dialog box, make any necessary adjustments.
  3. To see a page layout preview of the report: click Preview at the bottom of the dialog box. If this is a multi-page report, click Next and Previous to view the various pages.
  4. Then click a button to output the report:
To print the report to the default printer, click Print.
To create a PDF file of the report, click Save To PDF. In the Save Report As dialog box, name the file and specify where to save it. Then click Save.
To export the report, click Export. In the Save As dialog box, name the file, specify where to save it, select a file type from the Save as type list, and, if available, adjust the encoding. Then click Save.
