Managing Inventory Groups
You can create, edit (change information about or add and remove items), and delete inventory groups.
Brass Jacks Bookkeeper determines the available quantity of a group based on the availability of all the items required to make up the group. If the group is for service items only, then the available quantity is shown as Unlimited. As an example:
If a group, Special Bundle, is defined as having 2 Blue Widgets and 3 Red Widgets, and the inventory shows 4 Blue Widgets and 4 Red Widgets, then the Available Quantity for the Special Bundle is 1. One Special Bundle can be sold with 2 Blue Widgets and 3 Red Widgets. There are 2 extra Blue Widgets and 1 Red Widget available for sale individually.
To view and manage inventory groups:
- Choose Inventory > Manage Inventory Groups.
- Review the items listed in the Inventory Groups dialog box.
You can view a group's name, the available quantity of a 'bundled' item, and its current value.
