Maintaining Report Groups

In the Report Manager dialog box, Brass Jacks Bookkeeper provides several standard groups: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Account, Financial, Journal Entries, Operational, and Payroll. There is also a Miscellaneous group that has reports that don’t fit into the other categories, such as Error Log and To Do Detail reports. Additionally, there is a Favorites group to which you can add reports that you use frequently.

Note: To add a report that you’ve created with another program to a report group, see Adding an External Report.

You can change the list of reports that are included in a group or create your own group.

To create your own group:
  1. Choose Reports > All Reports and Forms. In the Report Manager dialog box, click Manage Report Groups.
    or
    Choose Reports > Report Groups.
  2. In the Report Group Maintenance dialog box, click Add.
  3. In the Group Name box, type a name for the new group.
  4. Type a Description for the group.
  5. In the All Reports list, select a report.
  6. To include the report in the new group, click Add.
  7. Repeat steps 5-6 until the new group has all the desired reports.
  8. To delete a report, select it in the Reports For This Group list and click Remove.
  9. To save the new report group, click OK.

To create a new group based on an existing group, select the group in the Report Groups list, click Copy, and then adjust the Group Name and Description.

To adjust an existing group:
  1. Choose Reports > All Reports and Forms. In the Report Manager dialog box, click Manage Report Groups.
    or
    Choose Reports > Report Groups.
  2. In the Report Group Maintenance dialog box, in the Report Groups list, select the group to adjust.
  3. If you wish, edit the Group Name or Description.
  4. To delete a report from the group, select it in the Reports For This Group list and click Remove.
  5. To add a report to the group, select it in the All Reports list, and click Add.
  6. To save the adjusted report group, click OK.

You can delete any report group by selecting the group in the Report Groups list and clicking Delete. In the confirmation message box, click Yes.
