Formatting Reports
You can customize the way a report appears and prints. Any formatting done will override default settings.
Note: The actual formatting options depend on the open report and the selected field.
To format a report:
- Choose Reports > All Reports and Forms.
- In the Report Manager dialog box, to see the available reports within a group, click the Downward- pointing arrow. To hide the report listing for a group, click the Upward-pointing arrow.
- To view a report, click the Preview icon for that report.
- In the Brass Jacks Bookkeeper - Reporting dialog box, review the report.
- Click Formatting.
- In the Report Formatting dialog box, to format specific items, if available, select an item in the Fields For This Report list.
- On the Font tab, specify the font, style, and size.
- Click the Formatting tab.
- Adjust the field positions horizontally and vertically, and the height and width.
- Specify whether the field is Visible or not.
- Select an alignment.
- If you wish, change the text for a label, specify the format for numeric or date data, specify how negative values are indicated.
- Specify the page orientation.
- If available (for label-type reports), click the Labels tab. Specify the Predefined label stock and whether the label stock is Continuous Feed or Sheet Feed. If necessary, adjust the label positioning, margins, or order for printing.
- If available, click the Form Alignment tab, and adjust the X Position and Y Position as needed.
- To move columns on the page, click Column Order. In the Report Column Order Adjustment dialog box, select a column and click the Move Up or Move Down buttons as needed. Click OK.
- If you wish, to reset all values to the original default values, click Default.
- Click OK.
