Downloading OFX Files

To use the Bookkeeper electronic banking feature, to set up an online bank account with your bank or credit card company. Your bank or credit card company needs to provide downloadable OFX-formatted transaction files to work with Bookkeeper.

When you download an OFX file from your bank or credit card company, save it in one of the special folders that Bookkeeper monitors. These folders are located in the Documents folder (or My Documents folder) on your computer.

To download and save OFX files:

• Save OFX files for bank accounts in:
  \Bookkeeper\Electronic Download Files\Bank Account  
• Save OFX files for credit card accounts in:
  \Bookkeeper\Electronic Download Files\Credit Card  

Bookkeeper notifies you when it detects new files in one of these folders.

• To start the process of matching the electronic file to Bookkeeper transactions, click Yes.
• To do this later, click No. To start the process later, choose Banking > Reconcile Bank Account > Electronic Download File or choose Banking > Reconcile Credit Card Transactions > Electronic Download File.
