Creating Custom Colors
In the Color dialog box, you can create colors by specifying RGB (Red, Green, and Blue) values, by specifying HSL (Hue, Sat., or Lum.) values, or by selecting colors in a color spectrum.
The Color dialog box has two color-selecting areas:
- The Color spectrum is the large colored area. You use the Color spectrum to define the base color
- The Gradient spectrum is the narrow colored area. You use the slider to adjust the selected color.
To create a custom color by selecting a color:
- In the Color dialog box, click a blank box in the Custom color area.
- To change the base color, click a color in the large Color spectrum.
- In the Gradient spectrum, drag the slider to adjust the color.
The values in the boxes change as you adjust the color. - When the color you want appears in the box below the large Color spectrum, click Add to Custom Colors.
To create a specific color with defined values:
- In the Color dialog box, click a blank box in the Custom color area.
- Specify values from 0 to 255 in the Red, Green, and Blue boxes or the Hue, Sat., and Lum. boxes.
As you change the values in one set of boxes, the values change in the other. The specified color appears in the narrow Gradient spectrum and in the color box beneath the Color spectrum. - When the color you want appears in the box below the large Color spectrum, click Add to Custom Colors.
